Amelia Gannon feels invisible ,and cuts herself. Her mom and dad adopted 3 boys from Guatemala , and they run the house. Her dad has also checked out with parenting . She works at a hardware store , and is best friends with Ali. She loves to do wood working.
Michael Brooks with Blue hair meets her at the skate park, and slowly integrates himself into her life. He has his own crap salad to deal with. Brooks helps Gannon deal with her family, and she slowly learns about his scars. Their relationship starts fast, and everyone tells her to stay away from him.

Gannon is a moody girl when Brooks is gone for 35 days, and then their relationship turns sexual. She also tries E   with him. Brooks is helping his foster brother with drugs. Things change for them , when her parents go out of town.

This book is dark and gritty. Gannon has her cutting issues , and Brooks has his issues. He really loves her & shows her just how much. I had ended up crying at the end of this book. Gannon has some great friends with Ali & Ricardo. I know that this reality does exist , and there are many kids experiencing foster families, cutting, and absent parents. I had read The Fault Line and I didn't like it. I wanted to give this author another chance , and this book was amazing. The story is still with me after I finished the book.

Side Swiped Book Review & Tour

Talia and Bran are back together . She is living in Australia finishing up her last year in school. Bran is working on his school stuff too. He doesn't want to be in the office. He would rather be on a ship .

They are both dealing with living together , and school issues. Talia wants to do more with her life . Bran is dealing with his friend Karma who comes around. We also see Bran's family a bit more , and his sister.

This book was a fast read. There were many sexy times, but I thought they used sex so that they wouldn't have to have those important conversations. They both had their  issues to deal .  I can't wait too see what happens next in this series.

Riley has always had a crush on Sarah. Sarah has been dating his best friend Trip. Nat and Tannis  all head up to the cave and are drinking. They find these binoculars , that seem to foretell their future. Some see things and others don't .

Riley is also showing his memories with his family. We also see the family issues with his friends. Things change once they all look through the binoculars. Many things start to come true.

This book was a mystery  , and it was very good. I didn't have any idea of did it. Riley has some morals and dealing with his crush. He also has some issues with his mom and Trip. He also finds out that Sarah has some secrets too. This book has twists and turns.

She is having memories of another boy. She ends up kissing Ben  & more. She also is trying to find out more about the tattoo and the black bird.

This book was good, but I didn't like the her heart was with a mystery boy in her dreams, but she ends up kissing Ben. He also has some secrets too. This did remind me of Memento the movie.

Emmaline  Neal is a cop in this small town. She also works with at risk kids. Jack Holland is the hero , and also works with wine with his family. Em gets an invite to her ex's wedding, and she needs a date. Jack goes with her to the wedding. There is some attraction between them.  They both also need to work on their own issues, and deal with family. Jack is dealing with his ex wife .

I enjoyed this book very much and the sexy times. I also loved that family is a big part of the series. I loved that this wasn't a typical romance , and that they weren't looking for love. I can't wait to read more of this series.

Linda is a white girl and the daughter of the editor of the paper in town. She doesn't want any black kids at the school. Sarah is black girl , and this will be her senior year. She is one of 10 children being integrated into the school .

Linda doesn't want them there because they are ruining her prom. Sarah just wants to survive being at the school . They are both telling their sides of their story. Linda has a study boy friend but he is much older. They plan on getting married after she is done with school . Sarah wants to go to college. Sarah also is having feelings for girls.

Sarah and Linda get assigned a project for a class, and they have to work together . Linda doesn't tell her father about working with Sarah. Through this experience they grow to know one another , and also discuss the many things with segregation. Sarah also is fighting her feelings for Linda. Judy is both of their friends, and she also grows during this year. Linda and Sarah both love to sing, and they both end up on Choir.

This book was very good, and very thought provoking of times. I wasn't alive when this happened. I felt that this book tackled what in that year. I loved the different point of views. I felt that the girls struggled with their faith, being a christian, and their sexuality. Both girls changed over this year , and it was apparent in their choices. I loved that girls grew beyond color. Many family issues were touched upon from beating , faith, drinking. One of the girls felt invisible in their family. I loved that this book did have active parents with both girls. I loved this book, and it was amazing. I highly recommend that you read this book.
