The Here and Now book review

The Here and Now

Prenna James  is from the future. She came almost 4 years with a certain date marked on her arm. She also got a sweatshirt from a boy.

Forward a couple years later, she is going to school with the boy ( Ethan). He loves playing card games with her. He also knows that she is different. They both know a homeless man who they have nicknamed Ben Kenobi. He helps them out in big ways.

Prenna  has to wear these glasses , and she has to take these pills. They also have to obey some very important time travel rules. In the future, its not a very nice world. Many things happened from 1 day in time.
Prenna has feelings for Ethan, but she knows that she can't act on them. She also has to report in , and keep her distance since she is from the future. She also tries to solve the mystery about the date. She also comes to a realization about some of the rules. She also finds out some secrets.

This book was great about the time travel and the effects that one person can make and do damage to the future. The message came about differently , but the way it did come about did make sense. I loved that this brought up the effects from the future whether digital , or global. Overall I enjoyed this book , and loved that there was some romance. I also enjoyed it being a stand alone.

Sol is a night girl. She has been taking care of her grandfather, but he isn't doing very well. She has a brother who she hasn't seen for over 2 years, and they just had a baby. She injures herself to catch a glimpse of the baby in the hospital. Day boy helps her get fixed up . She is able to visit and hold the baby. Sol ends up taking the baby. Day boy is a medical student and working with his mom.

Day boy ends up finding her and the baby , and helping her out. D'Arcy is the day boy's name, and he has his own family issues that he is dealing with. This book takes place over a weekend, and we see many of Soleil memories.

This weekend is life changing in many ways for both of them. She gets help, and even finds some romance with D'Arcy.

This book had action, romance, trust issues, and also many family issues that came to light. I adored the realness of this book, and the tech was cool. I didn't know what to expect from this book. I loved the world building, and the characters. I loved the conversations between Sol & D'Arcy. Sol was smart, creative thinker who loved her family and would do anything for them. I thought that this book was so much better than I thought it would be. I enjoyed the romance.

Mary Crawford is working for a PR firm. She is married to Wade, and taking a screen writing class. During this time , she finds out that her husband is cheating on her. She also finds out that the business isn't doing very well.

She ends up getting to know Jackie , who screwed with her husband. She is also trying to connect all the dots between Jackie and her husband Wade business. Throughout the book, we see her memories of James ( who she went through a horrible incident with). She also has a couple make out sessions with Tommy. Tommy and Jackie also happen to be the restaurant many times.

This book is interesting, but then I didn't know what to expect. I found Mary through out the book to be questioning many things in her life. It was nice to see her with some girl friends. I could relate to being busy. I also thought the screenplay with in a book a different twist.

Raven and her sisters are triplets . They all know that they have destiny. Coral and Kat are trying to find their warriors, and deal with things in Florida. Raven is trying to find her warrior Vanir who has 2 dogs. Raven ends up being found , and saved by him. They have an instant attraction. He has many brothers , and they openly discuss Norse mythology.

Friends of Vanir seem to be dying. Raven thinks that it might be her mom. She is also keepings secrets from Vanir. She also has some magic abilities, and can feel her goddess. During the book, they are in Oklahoma and dealing with a huge snow storm.

I didn't really like the insta attraction but it appears that it happens for all the sisters finding their warriors. I could feel the attraction between Vanir and Raven. I do adore this mythology , and this is my first time reading this author. I can't wait to read about the other sisters.

The mortal instruments movie review

I finally saw the movie. It was okay , but a bit long with the fights. Okay Valentine stole the movie.
Jace, Isabella, clarey were okay actors. Magus was monotone, and so not what I pictured. I think it followed the book okay.
Dh thought that this was a tv series. It was meh to me, and so glad I waited to see this on tv.

I am glad that I waited to see this on TV, and this did go by the book. It had been a long time since I read the book.
